VALENTINE DAY IS ON THE CORNER

Valentine’s Day is back again, and it’s wonderful to receive a scented Valentine’s card. When sending a scented Valentine’s card make sure the fragrance is your signature perfume and wear that fragrance when you both are together.

To perfume the Card:

·     Take a small piece of tissue paper on which you have placed your favourite fragrance and place it in the envelop along with your card.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween comes down to us from the Pre-Christian Celtic festival of Samhaim, held on  31st October, which is the last autumn night before the cold winter. This night is considered to be the Celtic New Year. The Druids believed that the supernatural world drew closer to the physical world, so human beings were more susceptible to the power and influence of the unseen. Magic spells could be cast more easily, predicting fortunes was more revealing, and dreams held special significance.

Halloween is traditionally the night for fortune telling. A delicious way to do this is with a cake. Make a spice cake and insert specially made silver charms into the batter after pouring it into the pan. When the cake is cut, the charms will reveal the future: there can be a wedding bell. The owners can be blessed with the thimble, you can be granted one wish by a wishbone. the coin willl promise prosperity, the horseshoe gives you good luck and the button ensures you domestic bliss. Remember how many charms you insert in your batter and count them afterwards.

I think Halloween is the perfect reminder that magic flows through, mystery infuses every encounter of every day. We conjure up the keys that cannot be found anywhere in the house, transform leftovers into a feast, banish fear, heal hurts, make money stretch till the end of the month. life. We all do this much more but most women are not aware of their power for good. We have not consciously awakened to the realization that we are descendants of an ancient , sacred lineage: the SHE.

Dress up for Halloween  with a wonderful to wear when opening the door.

Mull cider or wine on the weekend for an autumn cup of cheer. The best mulling spices I have ever found are the Williams-Sonoma brand which you can order from their shops/online website.

Don't you think it is a magic you are performing when you are creating an authentic lifestyle. Tonight by candle light of the full moon. Try to use your power wisely for good of all. You have no idea of the innumerable lives you touch in the course of your lifetime. " I am sure there is Magic in everywhere - only we have not sense enough to get hold of it and make it do things for us".

When we were young we used to make attractive natural vases for autumn bouquets from Pumpkin. Scoop out the center and fill with a damp oasis cut to size. Arrange jewel-tone flowers, preserved leaves and vines in the oasis for a long lasting arrangement, occasionally test the oasis to see if you need more water.

Smell of PUMPKIN and GREEN APPLE activate your B.M.I. and they have a slimming effect on your body.

A R T H R I T I S

Today is WORLD ARTHRITIS DAY - which brings to my mind the number of people I know that suffer from some form of Arthritis. We usually associate it with the elderely but, infact it can effect people of any age, including children, and the arthritis ranges from mild aches to severe impairment. Arthritis is a umbrella term for more than a hundred different joint diseases ranging from pain and swelling in the joints - to osteoarithritis, which is a degenerative disease of the joints which wears away the protective cartilage often of the fingers, knees, hips and spine.

A diet rich in Calcium and Magnesium is recommended. It is good for both types of arthritis - rheumatoid and osteoarthritic. Regular mild exercise like walking and swimming has an overall beneficial effect. Supportive treatments like compresses, massages and baths using essential oils help to relieve pain, relax the muscles .remove inflamation and improve circulation thus removing toxins and swelling which is important in the treatment of arthritis.

Essential oil of Lavender is very soothing for all aches and pains. Use it to massage the area of pain gently. I have also used 2 to 3 drops of Lavender in a hot water compress. Remove the compress when it starts to get cold. Repeat 3 to 4 times a day until the pain subsides.

TRY THIS FAVOURITE BLEND OF MINE :
1 drop of Lavender
1drop of Ginger
1 drop of Rosemary
1 drop of Eucalyptus
Mixed in 1 tablespoon SESAME oil or ARNICA oil. Very gently apply and massage the oil into the area and wrap in a towel diped in hot water to which a handful of MAGNESIUM SULPHATE has been added. Do this 3 or 4 times a day - especially before sleeping and first thing in the morning.

USE OF AROMATIC OILS IN ANCIENT TIMES IN INDIA

India has been practicing and using AROMATHERAPY for over 10,000 years. and infact in a lot of small towns and villages they are still using Aromatherapy without knowing it.

SANDALWOOD has been used in temples to calm a person down and ground them. a lot of beauty preparations, like cooling FACE PACKS and BODY SCRUBS are made of Sandalwood pastes and Holy pastes to anoint the Kings and High Priests

To rejuvenate skin there was an ointment known as URGUJJA that contained SANDALWOOD, ALOES. ROSE AND JASMINE essential oils were used which counterats the effect of the sun. It is still used to maintain youth.

ALOE VERA GEL mixed with JASMINE essential oil was used regularly by women to preserve vitality and renew the reproductive system.

Women washed hair daily with ALOE VERA GEL or SHIKAKAI and aromatic herbs and oiled their hair with COCONUT or SESAME oil mixed with SANDALWOOD, JASMINE, ROSE or YLANG YLANG . They dried their hair with AROMATIC INCENSE.

Massage with oils of COCONUT and SESAME perfumed with AROMATIC herbs and woods was popular and WOMEN drank milk decocotions with little SAFFRON and SHATAVARI to bring a glow to their complexion.
